A brief history Back in 1952, Professor Mariano García Selgas and 24 enthusiastic young people undertook the first "tour of Economics" by the world. Brazil was the first destination, according to Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy. Hundred and fifty dollars each the first group trip in 1952 cost one-way fare. The trip is by boat, there was no alternative. Even in the newspaper featured an article about the arrival of the students: "Delegation of students back." Thus began a story in the Faculty of Economics and in the life of each of these travelers. The Faculty of Economics sponsored the trip and as such has some control of the institution through administrative procedures of the Department of Education Administration and rules issued by the Executive Board of the Faculty. In recent years, after the end of the intervention of the University of the Republic, this institutional relationship has deepened and the School authorities have shown greater concern for the harmonious development of the trip. Each group of travel each year passes on his experience to come groups, facilitating and supporting all the important aspects for developing and organizing a good trip.
Beyond simple trip, have another goal as more humanitarian support to needy institutions and is therefore making donations that are a key held by each group to travel on different occasions and also as a way to return the gesture society flow from it.
