This video sums up what to see in Vienna :
We arrived at Vienna and then get a map at the camp " Wien " left in the west II in A1140, Huttelberstrasse 80. We arrived at 18:50 and the reception closed at 19 pm. Cheaper cost us sleep in 4 bunk beds in a dormitory to install the two tents for 4. Camping is a very comfortable and very easy to sneak because the next day after we closed the reception, we moved in a bedroom (which are open at night until 2 am) and is supposed to be paid the next day, and obviously we were up before opening reception, we escaped from the sale to and we peel.
The first day after settling in, cook sausage and mash, surf a little on the internet (wifi) free of camping and went to sleep because we were tired.
The second day we went camping at noon and took the bus 148 or 152 to the destination and here we take feet from the green U4 Huttendorf station and got off at the central station is called Karlsplatz. Thence leaving the station we are in Ressel Park downtown. We took the street Karntner strade and found the Opera House Mozart . This is the State Theatre Opera. In 1869 he built the Opera House of the Court and started strong criticism of its two architects, who built this building following the schemes of the French Renaissance. It appears that due to teasing by the people, one committed suicide and another had a heart attack shortly thereafter. Therefore both architects were unable to attend the opening of the Court Opera May 15, 1869 to "Don Giovanni" by Mozart . But the tragedy does not end here, the March 12, 1945 the building was by or completely destroyed after a bomb impact, and 10 years was reconstructed.
Then we passed the Albertina building and then the tourist information that is in front. From here we got a good map with a walking tour that followed to the letter.
toured a busy pedestrian and came to the Haas Hau s (Casa Haas). This house was designed by architect Hans Hollein and completed in 1990. St. Stephen's Cathedral reflected beautifully in the glass facade of the mall.
Here in the Esteban Plaza (opposite the Cathedral of St. Stephen) tomorrow will be giving a ceremony the current pope, Benedict XVI Austrian. We entered this beautiful cathedral and was singing a chorus with orchestra.
From here we visited the home of Mozart in Vienna, where he lived for two years (09/29/1784 to 04/23/1787) being the longest period he lived in a house, and by far the most luxurious apartment was. This 4-story house seemed well kept and tidy, but in reality I think he's reformed and did not give me the impression that he had a good recreation of the era.
From here we returned to the Plaza Esteban and walk down the pedestrian street "Graben " where there was a monument to the Plague, officially known as the Trinity Column. This place was formerly a market place, and its name comes from a ditch outside the fort in the Roman camp, which was covered during the expansion works of the city and led to a plague. The column was originally made of wood in 1679 and from 1693 was of marble.
This pedestrian ended at Michaelertrakt (a door with a dome above) built from 1735 to 1893. Here between the square and the current plaza Michaeler Ballhaus were the offices of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth apartment, his wife.
Upon entering this door, you find yourself in an area full of palaces and buildings that are testimony to the power and wealth of Austria in the past.
continued walking and reached the Heldenplatz or Heroes' Square. This square is located in front of the Hofburg Palace, and is named after two great heroes of war: the Archduke Charles, who in 1809 defeated Napoleon at Aspern, and Prince Eugene of Savoy, the head of the army so popular Austria. So there are two monuments to the heroes built in the mid-nineteenth century. In this square is the Winter Palace and its gardens and last but not least you find yourself with several stout horse carts strolling tourists.
Highlights of the Hofburg Palace
Then we were in the Church of San Carlos Borromeo (Karlskirche), which has a lake front. It seems that in 1713 the plague struck again Vienna and Charles VI promised that when finished would build a church dedicated to San Carlos Borromeo. This was the building of the most significant Baroque sacred Vienna began in 1716 and completed in 1739. In its facade has two columns of victory, 33 meters high, and spiral embossing chronicles the life of St. Carlos. This kind of column and I saw him in Rome in the Roman Forum where was the Trajan column in Rome.
Here is next to the Vienna museum in Karlsplatz, and the Academy Theatre and Concert House Vienna.
continue our journey through the park Stad 1863. In this park we went to find the monument to Johann Strauss, where he is playing the violin. Then we went to the house music which also had an exhibition of Mozart , but we were a bit saturated with museums at that time of the evening and took a Karlsplatz subway station to get to know the headquarters building of the United Nations called One - City. The United Nations established in Vienna here in 1979 his third official seat next to New York and Geneva. Between 1973 and 1979 he built the Vienna International Center is a huge building of glass and concrete, with UN employees from 100 countries.
In the distance we saw was Donauturm Tower, a lookout tower 252 meters high. So there we were going through a financial district Vienna, which lies on the banks of the Danube . It's similar to what I told them about Paris with the neighborhood "La Defense" or London with the neighborhood "Canary Worf."
We also visited a large park Donau 1964, which is between the Old and New Danube . In the middle of this park is the Donauturm. Here we present you with the press card and we were lucky enough to ride free on the terrace, situated 165 meters high. Above this was a cafe and a slowly rotating restaurant and enjoy an incredible view of Vienna .
We took the subway from Kaisermuhlen and got off at the station Schwedenplatz to visit the area of \u200b\u200bthe clubs and resturants. There we find the clock Ander, 1913 on a bridge between two buildings on the street Hohen Markt. It seems that every day at 12 o'clock noon 12 figures or pairs of figures (representing prominent figures in the history of Vienna ) are parading through the facade of the clock, which shows the ancient coat of arms Vienna.
This area we did not like at all and decided to go to camp to try to sneak and Garrone night, and that was how they had at the beginning of my post.
